Hi there!

For those of you who don’t know me personally, my name is Sierra, I’m 23, and I live in Forest, VA. I’ve lived in the Forest/Lynchburg area my whole life alongside my parents and two brothers. I graduated last spring from Liberty University with a degree in Exercise Science and am currently working in a physical/occupational therapy clinic as a therapy tech. I love getting to walk alongside people who are physically hurting and getting to be a part of their healing process. There’s nothing better than seeing the growth and change in a patient that takes place from their first to their last appointment and knowing that you were able to play a small role in helping that growth to take place.

Growing up in a place where Christianity was the “norm” meant that I started learning about God from a very young age. While I believed in God and surrendered my life to Him when I was in first grade, it wasn’t until several years later when my family went through some really difficult times that I learned what it meant to be in relationship with Him.

Since then, God has been growing me and teaching me how to step out of my comfort zone and live fully dependent on Him. I’m learning what it looks like to surrender my plans for my life and how to be obedient to His will. While I honestly never thought that I would go on the World Race (because it didn’t fit into my “timeline” for my life), I believe that God has long prepared my heart for this opportunity. From the time that I was little, my parents knew that I was going to be a world traveler. My heart for the Nations along with my desire to help those who are both physically and spiritually hurting are a big part of what has led me here.

I’m nervous and excited and all of the emotions in-between, but most importantly, I am expectant for all that God is going to do not only next year on the World Race, but also this year as I pray and prepare.

Speaking of prayer, here are some ways that you can be paying for me throughout the next several months:
1. Fundraising!! This sometimes feels like a daunting task, so pray that I would have the courage to do this even when it gets hard. Pray also that God would bring alongside of me people who will financially invest in what God is doing.
2. Between work, serving at church, bible studies, spending time with friends and family, and prepping for next year, it sometimes feels like there aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done! Pray that I would know how to balance my time and that I would spend it wisely.
3. Pray for myself and the other people on my squad – that God would prepare each of us for this exciting journey that he has us on. Pray that there would be unity among team members and that we will serve Jesus together well.

Thank you so much for taking a little bit of time to get to know me and learn about where God is calling me right now!!
